Lifting frame for concrete mats
When tasked with developing a lifting frame, one might typically think of a beam or spreader. However, this project required something entirely different—a custom frame for lifting concrete mats. These mats are placed on the seabed to prevent the erosion of sand and silt.
The key challenge was designing a system that could automatically release the mats underwater without manual intervention. Our engineers embraced this challenge, and in collaboration with the project team at Boskalis, we developed an innovative solution.
The final lifting yoke measures 12 meters in length and 4.5 meters in width. The entire system is fully operational and remotely controlled from the Mantsinen crane on board the pontoon, ensuring efficiency and precision during deployment.
