Sliding sections for flowmeter test line

This time, a fellow company approached us with a request to assist in manufacturing a sliding section. Beyond the dimensions (16-20” and 24-28”), the main challenge was ensuring regulatory compliance. The design and construction had to meet PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) standards.

Together, we thoroughly analyzed the challenge, combining our expertise to develop an effective and practical solution.

The sliding sections are used in a test line for (gas) flowmeters. The client tests various designs within this system, requiring frequent modifications to accommodate different configurations. These sliding sections significantly simplify the process, eliminating the need for most intermediate pieces.

The entire assembly was built and tested under the supervision of LRQA in our facility. We then installed the system at the client’s site, integrating all required sensors, safety features, and PLC-based control systems for seamless operation.
